Book Release Celebration for Mystery Suspense Novel: Mayan Intrigue!

This week I’m celebrating the release of my new novel, Mayan Intrigue. After listening to the book trailer and reading the information below, click on SAMPLE CHAPTER and list one thing that grabs your attention. Happy Reading!

A Mysterious Artifact and Archaeological Thievery is Theme of Mayan Intrigue

The jungles of the Yucatan, Mayan ruins, looters, a mysterious artifact, and a nosey reporter are focus of Mayan Intrigue.

Mayan Intrigue” (ISBN: 978-1-58982-616-8) has humor, a touch of romance, and danger lurking in shadowy corners. With a blend of mystery and suspense, John and Julia Evans investigate and solve crimes, a story based upon the adventures of a married couple and their three daughters.

The subject discussed in this novel is archaeological thievery. When an ancient ruin is discovered, it doesn’t take long for thieves to take it apart. The Mayas used astrological alignments when planning their city. Looters have learned the layout of the Mayan cities so they know where to dig. With this knowledge, they can loot a sacred temple in a few days. Did you know that looting is only second to selling illegal drugs? While writing Mayan Intrigue, Linda Weaver Clarke found that artifact theft in Mexico has been taken over by drug dealers from Columbia. In other words, since organized crime has taken over, there is also an increase of violence. Can anything be done to save Ancient American history? Find out in this new mystery/suspense novel, Mayan Intrigue.

Okay! It’s time to click on SAMPLE CHAPTER and list one thing that grabs your attention.

What initially grabbed my attention was Julia's recurring, "warning" dream about the future. It sounds like another terrific adventure book!

I can't wait to find out why she keeps having the same dream! (plus my son is serving in Guatemala and I'm just starting to learn about Mayan ruins) Congrats on your new release:)

Julia's foreboding caught my attention. Isn't it funny how many people seem to know when something is going to happen intuitively?

The dream caught my attention--it read almost like an adventure game--and the real sense of danger in the form of the two men.

Whew! More than one thing caught my interest and as a reader, I saw several "set ups" in the dialogue about why was she having the same dream; needing more romantic time with her husband; seeing a tall latin that her friend couldn't see. All great curious lead ins to different parts of the mystery yet to be revealed. This sounds like an excellent read to me. Please enter me in the giveaway. The chance is appreciated and I hope I win!!

Yes, I'm always intrigued when someone sees a person no one else can see! My daughter had this experience when she was at ANASAZI for two months.

Congratulations Barb Shelton! I'm so happy to announce that you are the winner of Mayan Intrigue. I hope you'll enjoy it. I was impressed that you noticed all three set ups. Yes, having the same dream, needing more romantic time with her husband, and seeing a tall latin that her friend couldn't see are all part of the mystery.

Congrats :-)

What grabs my attention is Julia helpless in a remote area by herself and the fear she felt when that man approached her. Love to win this gripping book.
