Five Historical Sweet Romances

“From the first page I was captivated by this book. I had to continue reading, rushing to turn the page, I had to see what next adventure would catch up with Melinda. The plot is interesting: mixing history with fiction, adventure with romance. Melinda is an endearing character and you can’t help but see things through her eyes. This is good Christian fiction. It is a great honor to highly recommend this book to readers of historical fictions and romance. Ms Clarke, this is a piece to be proud of, well done!” –Debra Gaynor, Reader Views

Book: Melinda and the Wild West
Award: Semi-Finalist for Reviewers Choice Award
Synopsis: Melinda Gamble wants to make a difference in the world. Without hesitation, she accepts a job as a schoolteacher in the small town of Paris, Idaho. She has many challenges such as trying to help a rebellious student, coming face-to-face with a notorious bank robber, a vicious grizzly bear, and finding herself in a terrible blizzard that leaves her clinging to her life. But it’s a rugged rancher who challenges Melinda with the one thing for which she was least prepared—love.

Book: Edith and the Mysterious Stranger
Synopsis: With mysterious letters, cattle rustlers, a spunky woman, Halloween, and young love, there is always something happening. Edith, a nurse, moves to Idaho to care for her cousin Melinda who is having a difficult pregnancy. She has wonderful qualities but never gives a man a second chance because her expectations are so high. However, all that changes when a mysterious stranger starts writing to her. For the first time, she gets to know a man's inner soul before making any harsh judgments. Whoever he is, this man is a mystery and the best thing that has ever happened to her. The question that puzzles her is whether or not he's as wonderful in person as he is in his letters.

Book: Jenny’s Dream
Synopsis: Jenny Roberts has a dream to escape her small hometown to become a writer. She develops a friendship with a young farmer who is new to the area and has secretly fallen in love with her. After she realizes that her friend means more to her than she thought, she must now choose between a career and romance. Which dream should she pursue? The only thing standing in her way is an unpleasant memory, which has haunted her since childhood. She must learn to forgive before she can choose which dream to follow. Meanwhile, a legendary ten-foot grizzly is seen in the area and its boldness has frightened the community.

Book: Sarah’s Special Gift
Synopsis: Sarah is a beautiful and successful dance teacher. She is deaf, but this does not stop her from living life to its fullest. While visiting the Roberts family, David finds himself entranced with this very special lady and ends up defending her honor several times. He finds that Sarah has gone through many trials as she teaches him the importance of not dwelling on the past and how to love life. Meanwhile, David learns about the legend of the Bear Lake Monster and wonders why the community believes in such a thing. He is determined to prove there is no Bear Lake Monster.

Book: Elena, Woman of Courage
Synopsis: The “Roaring Twenties” was a time of great change, when women raised their hemlines and bobbed their hair. The language of the era was also new and different. Watch a young love blossom in this sweet romance. When Elena Yeates settles into a small western town as the newest doctor, a few problems arise. The town is not ready for a female doctor, let alone one so strong and independent. She must struggle against the prejudice to establish her new practice. As she fights to prove herself, the town’s most eligible bachelor finds it a challenge to see if he can win her heart.

I would like a hard copy of "Edith and the Mysterious Stranger" because I like the premise and I like books with strangers... I know that sounds weird, but books featuring drifters or outsiders have always captured my imagination!

Thanks for the giveaway!

I love them all! Three of them have caught my eye. I'd like Melinda and the Wild West because I enjoy reaging how women survived in the old west. I like the Mysterious Stranger because of the mystery involved in the story. I also like Jenny's Dream because of is being about someone deciding on what is best for them to do. I would like a hard copy of any of these three, but will also take an e-nook if needed to. Thanks for the chance.

They all sound good, but "Elena, Woman of Courage" really caught my eye. Not only because I like the era in which it is set, but Elena sounds like a strong female character. Also, my granddaughter who is due to arrive in March is going to be named Elena! Unless, of course, her parents change their minds ....

I would need hard copies. I absolutely loved them all.Emily and the wild west, i think that's the title got me hooked right away. I could almost see her walking in the stream. Since we have a small stream on our small farm, it was very picturesqe to me.

Seriously, how can I choose between five equally adorable sounding western romances? Impossible.

Edith and the mysterious stranger - why? Because it feels like a story close to my own, and I'd love to read that. My husband and I wrote to each other before we met, and even agreed we loved each other before we'd met in person. I don't know how, but we just knew. 2 months later we were married, years later we're still as happy as we were when we first started writing to each other. wifeysarahg(at)googlemail(dot)com

I'd have to say that Elena, Woman of Courage" sounds like my kind of book! I'd love a hard copy, of course, but wouldn't pass up an eBook.

Hi Linda, I have these books and bought a set of the old ones at Christmas for my Mom. They are actually still here because she would not let me mail her anything for Christmas. She said she'd be here and she's is still saying that and has not been here yet. Now I honestly wish I had the 2nd editions. You truly did an amazing job with the covers. Plus you rewrote didn't you? I'd honestly love to enter but that's not fair to everyone else. I just wanted to let you know how great they look! And the books were great. I couldn't pick my favorite either. They were all good. Thanks for all the contests in the past. I look forward to more. Also thanks for making it so easy to enter. I like just being able to write w/o the twitter and the facebook stuff. Thanks, best wishes on the sales of the 2nd editions. :)

As hard as it is to choose, I will go with Edith as my choice.

Oh, wow! I just found this by mistake, but, after reading all the books summeries, I think I have a new author to add to my "must read" list. I'd love a copy of either Melinda and the Wild West" or "Edith and the Mysterious Stranger". I love hysterical romances, and Melinda appeals to me because it sounds like a woman that can overcame many obsticals and yet can find love. Edith appeals to me because of the mystery of not knowing who the letters are from. I love the idea of a secret admirer. Anyhow, I'd love them in e-book if I win. And I am looking forward to reading your works regardless of the outcome of the contest. Thanks!

I have to agree with everyone else and say I love them all. If I had to choose just one I would choose Melinda and the Wild West. I like the challenges she has to face in the true Wild West and reading the synopsis reminds me of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Thank you for the giveaway,

Melissa

I love them all. I would love to have all of them. The books all interest me because they are historical romances, which I love anyway, but they also deal with people - particularly women - who overcome adversity. This shows a strength of character of period women that isn't seen enough in literature I feel.

I love the covers! That's a great idea to use silhouettes. :) All of them sound good, but the first 3 have me the most intrigued. I'm sure I'll love any of them-- I love books set in the country-- one of my series has a family on a family ranch, and one is set on a family farm. :) So which ever one, I'm there.

PS: I love signed books, but would be happy with an e-book.

They are all great sounding. I love to read so much that I could read them all and enjoy them. I like both hard copies and ebooks, have no problem being surprised by whitch book I get. I will just ask for the names of what I don't get so I can purchase or barrow from the library the ones I don't get. Thanks for the chance to win at least one book.

It is way to hard to choose one! I prefer hard copies as I love to hold the book in hand and physically see my progress from beginning to end, but am open to e-books, just tend to not read them as quick or often! Glad to see more and more from you all the time! :) rmtbatty@gmail.com

Two books called out to me more than the others. The first being Edith and the Mysterious Stranger. The mysterious letters was an instant draw for me. I imagine while reading this book as Edith talks to different people, trying to figure out who is in fact writing her those mystery letters. It's just an exciting read. Elena Woman of Courage also popped out at me because I instantly was reminded of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. The town wasn't used to a her at first, but I love how she overcame the obstacles to become an established and trusted doctor of the town with a mind of her own. I'm interested in seeing how this book presents such an angle. It sounds like an amazing read. They both do! And the time period both books are set in makes them that much more appealing.

Thank you for this giveaway opportunity!

I would like to read Edith and the Mysterious Stranger --- although I have a feeling that the mysterious stranger will probably be someone she already knows. I guess I'll have to read it to find out.
